For all of you that have played CoH and left for whatever reason, you may want to come back soon. Hero-on-Hero PVP is currently being tested in the Arena, and so far, it's some gooood stuff, bugs aside.
Well, for me, anyway.

Most CoH players don't know BEANS about 3-D combat.

There's plenty of PvP options, too. There's been 150-player SG-vs-SG matches going on, very heady stuff! There's rankings available as well. Just, uh, watch out if you're a controller or defender... you're everyone's favorite target.

And of course, the l33t dewds have come out of the woodwork for PvP. As long as you stay out of Super Heavy Weight matches (45-50) and stick to 44 and below, you can avoid most of them. The hilarious thing is that they think they're very annoying with their attitudes.... considering the sheer amount of crap we all put up with in Tribes matches, these guys are raw newbloods when it comes to the 'annoying' factor. I wouldn't worry much about it if you decide to come back in.

Also, new to CoH is Global Chat handles. These are handles that are game-wide, not just tied to one server. That is to say, no matter what server you are on, you can talk to any other player so long as you know their Global Chat handle.
My chat handle is: @Entropic Shift
Format for sending me a global tell is :
/tell @Entropic Shift, (insert message here)
Note the comma, it's required.
Format for adding me to your Global Friends list is:
/gfriend @Entropic Shift
----
I've set up a Global Chat channel for us to use to keep in touch with each other. The name is "TroutSlappers" It's a private channel, so I will need to invite you to it before you can join it.
If you want to join the channel, first send me a global tell (as above), then once we're communicating, we add each other to our global friends list (also as above). Once that's done, I can easily toss you a channel invite.
If you want to bind a key to chat into the TroutSlappers channel (recommended, btw), here's the format:
/bind (insert key here) beginchat /send "TroutSlappers"
I"ve got mine set for numpad2, like so:
/bind numpad2 beginchat /send 'Troutslappers" [$name]
The $name in the brackets spits out my current character name, btw.

Once server-to-server character transfer gets implemented, things will get interesting. I've got a couple of chars that I wouldn't mind transfering elsewhere.
