New Build

Post by Sharpster »

So I decided it was time for a new build. I've got all the parts sitting behind me besides the GPU. Waiting for the 3000 series to drop here soon and I'll be grabbing up one of those after I see the specs (and pricing :D).
EDIT: Going to try my luck with grabbing an EVGA 3080 on release day.
  • i9-9900k - Microcenter had a couple on sale for 379.99 in-person pickup!
    EVGA CLC 360 cooler
    Asus ROG Maximus XI Hero
Corsair Vengeance rgb pro 32gb (2x16)
    Seasonic Focus plus gold 850w
    Samsung 970 evo plus 500gb m.2
    Crucial MX500 2tb 2.5"
    Lian Li PC-O11 Case
120mm Noctua fans (the gray; I can't stand the brown/tan)

Also bought some cable extensions, want to do the case some justice by having the guts look nice.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Somehow... I managed to beat the bots and score a 3080 off Newegg yesterday morning. I'm still shocked about that to be honest. Should be here 9/22 :D :D :D :D

sweetness!!

I am saving up to replace my i5-4590 build next year.

Not sure if I want to go Intel or the new Ryzen series coming out.

Yeah you’ll have to see how the new series look for sure. I strongly considered ryzen for awhile. They’ve come a long way.

Here’s a pic of the final product with the the glass off (too much reflection):

Fans came lighter then I expected. But they’re a bit darker then the picture let’s on.
