Drive cloning question

Post by XMENPorsche »

Thinking of cloning my primary boot drive to an SSD. Problem - primary drive is 2Tb, SSD will probably be about 250Gb. Can anyone recommend a good utility that will allow me to clone from a larger drive to a smaller one?

Ick. Not sure you can do that. May be possible, but doesn't windows put some "unmovable" files on your disk? If so they'd have to be in the same position on the new disk, which if they're past that 250GB point doesn't work too well.

I wouldnt even bother with the clone, d00d.

Just install windows onto the SSD and copy over any pertinent files you want on the SSD.

Then set windows backup to backup to the 1TB :D
