I don't remember when I started getting these crashes, but it's been happening more frequently, more with some games than others. SupCom2 and Oblivion would just freeze and I'd have to ctrl-alt-del and then esc to get back (thanks to Vista's recovery routines). Red Faction: Guerrilla was way way worse.

So I fiddled around with the nVidia control panel -> Manage 3d settings, and set everything back to default. I'm not sure why they weren't already, whether I'd changed them previously or something had gone wonky somewhere. However, that seems to have done the trick. Haven't had one of these crashes since. Note that this was not an overclock issue; that's a different section. Just thought I'd share.

Also my framerate has notably improved in RF and Oblivion. Yay!
