Heh... Thanks Gambino <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

I tried multiplayer today... Some guy named iceman showed up. It wasn't my longtime friend, though.

In multiplayer, it's all manual control. You tactical officer is completely benign.

The multiplayer portion could learn somethings from the team that developed Tribes. They could use an automatic team balancing feature when you initially join. Most of the peeps I played with today wanted to be on the UFP team. I played on the non-UFP team. Several pleas to even the teams fell on deaf ears. The folks I played with today didn't understand the distinction of global chat and team chat. Communications was pretty sparse although there were attempts at team work. BridgeCommander could use the DTM ideals. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/wink.gif ALT=";)">

I'm going to play some more...It was fun to play in multiplayer. The maps I played on today had multiple planets that you could warp between. Pretty cool to be able to warp away when things were going bad...then regroup to come back and kick some Federation butt. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... /smile.gif ALT=":)">

<IMG SRC="http://webpages.charter.net/1ibcnya/mon ... I was playing online last weekend. Most of the servers I went on were death matches. Not very good considering that the enemy targeted your warp engines first so that you cant run away to repair like they do. It is fun to try and fight inside a nebula too.

I have not played any team games yet, but out of the DM I have played, I can tell there is a possible chance to make a good tournament for this.

-LoS-TimberWolfvehicle specilist

"Don't Drink And Drive, Get High And Fly Home" said by Neckhole

I play this game more then I play T2. The only thing I hate is most people use the self destruct ability to keep you from getting the kill.

In one game I did, everyone played as shuttle craft. It was interesting to see how shuttles fight each other. The server admin kick anyone who selfdestructed before dieing, so it was nice to get some points. Most of us just aimed at the engines and weapons then pushed them around with the tracter beam.

We should get a group together to play some time. It will be alot of fun to do ship to ship combat with you all.
-LoS-TimberWolfvehicle specilist

"Don't Drink And Drive, Get High And Fly Home" said by Neckhole
"To Love A Woman Is To Know Heaven And Hell Personaly" Don't Recal Who Said This

One thing that kind of bugged me about the multiplayer community is ramming. It is very easy to unintentionally ram someone. Everyone gets upset and starts screaming about ramming.

I had some guy's own inertia pull his ship into mine and he died... So of course, he immediately started berating me for ramming HIM! Unbelievable. If you don't know how to pilot a ship well, then don't blame me. This game has a lot of growing to do. I miss a lot of the team gameplay features that Tribes has.

<IMG SRC="http://webpages.charter.net/1ibcnya/mon ... I try to play missions where you either defend or attack the starbase. It is hard sometimes to defend it, enemy ships will come in close cloaked and then fire a few times until someone starts to come into view then recloak.

I know what you mean about the ramming. I was on one server were one player played as a shuttle craft. If you think thats funny, he got the most kills on the server. Everyone had to play as small ships or medium ships. Also in the middle of a large condence combat area, you cant help but bump into a ship or two.

One thing I hate, since I don't Shelfdestruct, is when people follow you out to another planet and then take out your warpdrive. It is kinda fun trying to fight back without sensers though.
-LoS-TimberWolfvehicle specilist

"Don't Drink And Drive, Get High And Fly Home" said by Neckhole
"To Love A Woman Is To Know Heaven And Hell Personaly" Don't Recal Who Said This

I find the Star Trek Games amusing, mostly because the series is fairly non violent, yet most all the ST Games are centered on Combat.

Why Do I Always Die?!?!?!?!

Yeah, the most popular/best selling Star Trek games are based on combat. The more adventure based ones apparently don't sell as well.

I guess people either just like to blow up stuff all the time -or- we like a game that's different every time. On the adventure type games, once you've played it through, it typically goes on the shelf (at least in my house.) Maybe that's why Bridge Commander is a marriage between the two types of games. Once you've gone through the adventure/story portion of the game, then you can go online and fight it out with others.

It would be nice if someone would make a game that downloads small adventure scenarios each time you fire it up. Then that way, the adventure portion of the game would still remain fresh...kind of like watching a weekly TV series. But, I'm sure that wouldn't be feasible for game producers.

<IMG SRC="http://webpages.charter.net/1ibcnya/mon ... Been a while since I last played, but would not mind reinstalling BC again if some of us can get together online to play.
-LoS-TimberWolf{FF}
Vehicle Specilist
