Nforce 3 250 GB

Post by MegaDeath70 »

Im looking to buy the latest NForce chipset for my 3200+ AMD 64. All i can find is the Chaintech at Newegg, and im wanting the Asus,Gigabyte or MSI brand. I cant see them anywhere. It may be that they havent released them yet or they are on order and just a matter of time before they hit the sites. MSI says its available in May. And i found 1 site that shows the Asus board on order.

If anyone finds any of these at there vendors website PLEASE post it here for me to check it out.

Thanks

<img src="http://www.limalan.org/images/Sigs/Mega ...

"MegaDeath //Definition: [n] the death of a million people; "they calibrate the effects of atom bombs in megadeaths" :-)!"

did you check pricewatch? You can filter by manufacturer, I think.

Yea i want the 250 not 150 chipset. I did all the above mentioned with no luck. Errrrrrr.......

Pricewatch doesnt even list the chipset. And Newegg only has 2 boards with that chipset and they both are Chaintech's. I will wait a week or maybe 2 but i have someone wanting my existing hardware and i cant give up my computer until i get the damn chipset and mfg. i want. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/grin.gif ALT=" >D">

<img src="http://www.limalan.org/images/Sigs/Mega ...

"MegaDeath //Definition: [n] the death of a million people; "they calibrate the effects of atom bombs in megadeaths" :-)!"

No, pricewatch doesn't list the chipset, but you can use the search feature. I did and found Chaintechs; the others were false positives.

*edit*
Oh, I just found this review on the Epox version: <a href="http://www.hexus.net/content/reviews/re ...

Seems to be very nice, as long as you don't have a need to overclock. I will say that the one Epox board I ever bought was great for features and stability.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p090.ezboard.com/bxmenclan.showU ... ambit>XMEN Gambit at: 5/6/04 7:16 am

Update: I bought the Chaintech. I couldnt wait for the other slackers to release there board. The board does look rather nice, in it has a front face plate for usb and temp guage and mic/headphones, and a couple other things. Plus a nice heat reducing doo hicky !

<img src="http://www.limalan.org/images/Sigs/Mega ...

"MegaDeath //Definition: [n] the death of a million people; "they calibrate the effects of atom bombs in megadeaths" :-)!"

The 32 bit proggies should run without a hitch on the 64-bit OS. The problem will be drivers.

XMEN member
Card-carrying DTM
OKL Fish-napper

Though a program be but three lines long, someday it will have to be maintained.
The Tao of Programming

Ok thanks Gambit.

Its a good thing that the drivers are the first thing to install after the OS. So i should know how it works right off the bat.

<img src="http://www.limalan.org/images/Sigs/Mega ...

"MegaDeath //Definition: [n] the death of a million people; "they calibrate the effects of atom bombs in megadeaths" :-)!"

I gave the 64 bit a shot for about 2 hours and decided it was gonna be more of a head ache than it was worth. I forgot to burn the drivers i downloaded to cd as my storage 120 gb is sata driven. So i couldnt get a internet connection to download the drivers.

I will wait for the release and purchase it then.

<img src="http://www.limalan.org/images/Sigs/Mega ...

"MegaDeath //Definition: [n] the death of a million people; "they calibrate the effects of atom bombs in megadeaths" :-)!"
