CD drive question...

Whenever I start windows it spins up both of my cd drives... I don't mind that, except sometimes they never stop (cd or no cd in the drive). Mine used to do that, and then they just stopped oine day... dunno why it ever did it, but it seemed to always happen in Win 2k for me.. not so much in XP.
