Actually, I went with the Intel stock thermal goop they'd already applied to the heatsink. Can't complain, either--CPU's been topping out around 50C, which is plenty fine with me. (That's with the windows closed and the house heat on--open the window and it drops to like 43C)

My case arrived today, too. I love this thing. It came with enough screws and drive rails and everything to put all three hard drives and my CDRW into the system. Plus, those funky purple fan clips really do a nice job--the fan clicks in, and each clip has two retention arms and four expanding pegs to fit in the fan's screw holes. No vibrational noise yet. Antec makes some nice cases, folks.

Oh yeah, I did get a bigger monitor. Timmain gave me his old 19" CRT during the last MegaLAN.

*edit

Forgot to mention, this MAX3 motherboard has another feature that's really cool. You can tell it which drive controller has boot priority, such that you can make the main SATA controller (which is actually #3 in the list after the two normal PATA controllers) the main boot device. Very handy.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://pub141.ezboard.com/bxmenclan.sho ... bug>Ambush Bug at: 9/29/03 6:15 pm
