multiple monitors question...

Post by BlackRider »

I have my laptop plugged into the TV... how can I get it to mirror what is on my screen. (i.e. not 'extend my desktop...') I want the TV to show exactly what's on my monitor.

Using: XP, and the nVidia GF4 440 Go TV out thing....
COLORS!

It's a setting on your video card properties. I don't know the exact name of the tab it's on, but it's the one with the picture of two monitors, conveniently labeled "1" and "2".

XMEN member
Card-carrying DTM
OKL Fish-napper

Though a program be but three lines long, someday it will have to be maintained.
The Tao of Programming

If you have it plugged to the port in the back of the laptop, then press the FN button followed by the monitor function botton. While holding the FN button down, you can toggle between the different setups that the laptop is equipped with.

On Dell laptops it is FN + F8 key. It is a 3 way toggle.

First it toggles the output ONLY to the External monitor
2nd it toggles the ouptop to BOTH the laptop and external monitor.
3rd, back to only the laptop.
