Ok, So I get this new case and Get all excited about my neato drop from 52C to 49C on average, and Then I upgrade my bios, And Now I am averaging 63C? WTF! It's also possible that the upgrade changed the way the temp is read - say, to account for the distance between the probe and the core.<br><br>To see if your monitoring sw matches what the bios thinks, leave your system idling in windows for a while to get the temp stable. Then reset it and check the temp in the bios itself, and it should be awfully close. I have the asus Ipanel which plugs directly into the mobo, and gives me the bios temp levels so i know the temp is correct. Also note that if you idle your computer while in the BIOS, the temperature will keep rising and won't flatten out like it does in windows. The BIOS has no way to cut back on the CPU usage, so it uses the full CPU resources to display the BIOS info. Heh.<br><br>You're using the A7M266, right? If so, I'd go with what the BIOS says the temp is. Wonder if the new BIOS increased the core voltage? You should have a 12V reading in there too.<br><br>You could probably just boot it from cold, and read the voltages then in the BIOS.<br><br>You should have +12V, +5V, +3.3V, and VCore.<br><br>You could load your copy of ASUS PCProbe from the MB drivers disk (or d'l a copy of it from ASUS's site). Or I could send you a copy of mine. Naw, the chip doesn't use 12V. That's for peripherals and cards. i have all the twelve volt readings. - and + should I try to underclock to 1050? It may help get that temp down. Are your fans all clean? When I pop the side off, and stick my hand in there, it almost feels cold.
