help

Post by MegaDeath70 »

A friend of mine has this trouble and ive had it in the past as well. I reformatted to fix the problem, but maybe someone here has a quick fix for this.

I know that some of you out there have had this same problem:
It is the tribes "tic" where every 2 seconds or so the game does a hiccup lag that lasts for 1/4 a sec and then allows the game to resume... and it is constant... also when I increase the priority of Tribes in the task manager the hiccups are spaced further apart...
I just finished a fresh install... and downloaded all the updates (I hope)
So I think it is a windows problem not Tribes... also under Task manager the system file is pulling 10% of my CPU resources all the time!!! Probably the culprit... but I don't know what to do about it...

Mine jumped from 3 % to 10% every second or so, creating the hicup. I thought it was tribes related as well, but i found out it did it in all video files. I even started my machine with no startup items in task bar. Still no fix.

<img src ="http://web.acsalaska.net/~david.johns/M ... center>"We Rule the Earth and the Skys" Rogue Warriors

Alright, first off thanks for your help... now I am not sure what what fixed the problem, but I do know it is definately motherboard related... I just updated the bios to version 2815 (I had reverted back to 2619 when I was trying to get my multiplier to work (The unlocking job worked at first, but I think something went wrong and they peeled up so anyway...) ) It could be the bios update or the fact that by reseting all the bios settings I selected the correct value.... If I figure out which one I will let you know...
The most important thing is that Tribes is once again smooth with XP... ahhhh...

all is well for him now...thanks anyways Ice !

<img src ="http://web.acsalaska.net/~david.johns/M ... center>"We Rule the Earth and the Skys" Rogue Warriors
