How do i get rid of MSN messenger?

I got the latest XP update and now MSN messneger opens every time i open Outlook Express. Rename your messenger folder to something else. Doesn't matter what it is, just rename it. Then when Outlook tries to open it, it doesn't see the folder, and Messenger doesn't open. Outlook doesn't need messenger open to work.
