My suggestion?

a)
1)virus check
2) adware check
3) test

b)
1) uninstall T2.
2) run a thorough scandisk
3) Possibly defrag your drive (just to move the data blocks around)
4) reinstall T2, patch it up to current. Do not add any scripts for now.
5) test

PNG is a compressed graphics file format. Only reason you'd be getting errors with it is if something got corrupted somewhere. Could be that some blocks on your HD went bad. At worst, it could mean replacing or reformatting your drive. Maybe it's just a virus.

XMEN member
Card-carrying DTM
OKL Fish-napper

Though a program be but three lines long,
someday it will have to be maintained.
- The Tao of Programming
Life is complex; it consists of real and imaginary parts.

How are you patching up to current version? Using online or files you've saved? If it's files, you may have a corrupt one.

The only other option than a corrupted source file at this point is something in Windows registry, device drivers, or dlls. In that case, you may want to first run your "fix current windows installation" option from the install CD, and then run windows update to make sure you're current. If none of that is it, a windows reinstall will likely do the trick. Sorry, but at least it's not looking like a complete format.
XMEN member
Card-carrying DTM
OKL Fish-napper

Though a program be but three lines long,
someday it will have to be maintained.
- The Tao of Programming
Life is complex; it consists of real and imaginary parts.
