Ever have this happen to you in pub
I played some great T1 matches tonight in the 'Hell' server. I really haven't played that well in some time. It was only a couple of maps (RC and SB) but they were both very close and the teams were really working well together.

Here's something I noticed about Tribes, something I've noted before but really appreciated this time. Have you ever played a really good pub game, where the team was working together really well and comradary starts forming. Because during the second map I had gone over to the enemy base chasing a flag and I noticed down in one of the valleys that there were two enemy lights teaming up on one of our heavies, so instead of pursuing my objective (which I had lost sight of) I decided to help out my teammate. Admittedly this isn't a wise move (not something I'd do in a match), ignoring important things like flags and generators and such to try and save a HO that's next to dead and probably out of ammo, but when things are really running so well on the team you start to get a bit of that team pride and you just have to help your fatty friend out of a tight spot. "Forget the flag, we gotta save Bubba!!!" Anyway, we killed one of the lights together, the second finished him off, I killed the second, and then was promply killed myself a few moments later. Not a huge story, but I really like how Tribes has that ability to instill a real sense of team spirit in you with strangers. Something that goes unappreciated a lot of the time. I also really like how after 3 damn years of the game I still notice things I like about it.
XMEN|FireFro[DTM]

"Join me or die, can you do any less?"

Yeah, I have done that a few time...in fact lately the T2 servers I have been playing on I have made a few friends and they trust my calls for help or incoming nme. I was working as my Sniper/Elf/Chain covering the flag in T2, and there was an HOF with me. I forget the map name, heh, but who cares anyways? It was an open air mapstand.

Together we fought off some hairy situations, and when the enemy really piled up on us, we had support from our other team-mates and defeated them! My heart was pounding HARD that night.

The communication we had going was just awesome. I would scout out for the enemy, call out what was coming at us, ELF the people off their routes and he would polish em off. It was just one of those games where everything seemed to go well between team-mates.

The skill level of those in the game were almost identical IMHO, so I didn't feel like our win was anything less than well earned.

[Ravok-99]
Proud Member of the THZ*
Proud Member of the XMEN
Proud to be a part of the Dragon Talon Mercenaries
