Geocaching

Non-'puter stuff. Photography, hot rods, or tropical fish for example

Geocaching

Post by Spinning Hat »

Anyone try / and or actively pursue the hobby? It's Minnesota's Sesquicentennial this year, and to celebrate the state parks are doing a Geocaching hunt in all 72 State Parks. They have a few parks that are "demo" parks, where they have GPS units Free to use, and you go hunt in the park. We did 2 yesterday at Gooseberry falls and Split Rock State ark, and it was a whole lot of fun. I'm thinking I want to maybe start doing this more for fun, and was wondering what a good hand held unit that's not too expensive. Any ideas? The the state gad Garmin eTrax units, and they were a decent basic unit, but I would like something with a color screen and map overlay.. I'd like to see where in the park I am so I don't have to try to carry a map out all the time...
