It wasn't any one issue; more like a general breakdown. Been seeing a counselor since January and instead of calming down, stuff escalated. A few weeks ago she told me she was done, end of story, she wants out.
So far things between us have been about as amicable as could be expected and we're actually still living in the same house. We've decided to use Fairway Divorce and try to keep the lawyering to a minimum since we think we can pretty much agree on things. I hope that's true. Definitely better, cheaper, and faster without courtroom battles.
I know that several of you have also been through this. I thank you for sharing your experiences here at the time. For the rest of you, I hope you never have to do this. It's certainly the worst emotional trauma I've ever experienced, and I know (thus far) it's a whole lot easier than the one Ice went through. It still feels like a nightmare you can't wake up from. I think I'm past the worst of it but will have to see. I know we'll both be grieving for a while.
