Come in! Have a margarita or root beer? How about some fresh trout? :)

Thats really cool. I sincerely doubt it'll see much commercial use, as the oil companies will be very quick to snatch that up and bury it somewhere where it won't see the light of day for a few decades. I can imagine being 60 and seeing "NEW! Hydrogen reactor for your home! Runs on Ethanol!" after all the oil has dried up.

The world will not end in a blinding flash of light or virulent pestilence. Ethanol to hydrogen? Hmmmm

Seems like I could build a machine that takes in sunshine and water and puts out hydrogen and oxygen. Wouldn't that be even better?

The problem is that most solar energy converters aren't as efficient as photosynthesis.

Vari has a VERY good point. (That rhymes!)

Anyways...

Vari's point is the second strongest reason AGAINST opening up new oil fields in the US. It's also a great reason to push for alternative fuels, and to get away from any reliance on oil from OPEC countries.
