Avatar error

Can not upload an avatar. It appears that the /images/avatars/ storage directory is not writable.

That's correct. I've not tried to get that working, don't know if it even does, but I didn't want a bunch of extra stuff loaded on the site and was paranoid as well. :) I guess I could have a look at it.

It is as easy as just right clicking on the /avatars/ directory in your ftp client and chmod to 777

Offsite avatars tend break over time as people lose/change hosting. Locally hosted images can be more secure and faster loading than offsite as well.

Nothing bugs me more than broken images in neglected profiles :)

Not easy for you or the method can't be that easy? hehe. Chmod is needed for any php script that writes a file to a directory, I am sure it is the solution.
