That's a good price! If I had read a little bit more, the R9 270x is just a 7870 with a little faster clock and faster GDDR..

Well, depending on UPS and FedEx, I am hoping to have everything by Saturday... Then I might be able to play Saturday night. Cross your fingers and toes! The Majority of my parts left Memphis yesterday, and will usually be here by Friday, but UPS is claiming Monday.. So I am a little concerned, sinc...

Thanks! I think the Win8 non-pro version is $99 but I wanted to have all the goodies. The pricing between versions is weird.. You pay more to have the 32 and 64 bit versions together for those who are cluless. Typical M$ pricing game. So I grabbed the Pro 64bit. The $40 difference isn't that big in ...

Well, It's been purchased! Hopefully parts will arrive by Friday and everything arrives in good shape. I upgraded to a Haswell chip and board, but other than that, everything else is the same.

Well, It's happened.. My PC is dead.

And with that, I threw together a wishlist of parts which I'll post below. Budget is definitely a concern, but I also want to have this thing for as long as possible too. Definitely going for the most bang for the buck. Take a look and let me know what you think: CORSAIR TX Series CMPSU-650TX 650W A...

Good to see you online tonight, even if we didn't get to talk too much.. I think my 'Ancient' PC has given up the ghost, and my laptop was able to play T:A for about 20 minutes, then overheated and shut off... Now It's still warm and it's getting all kinds of errors and stuff, so I'm probably best t...

I'd pay $1500 for something like that, for sure. It's got enough cutting edge stuff to be able to keep it around for a while, but it's not so bleeding edge that you're paying the early adopter premium.

Damn.. For $1500 that is a damn fine Laptop. that'll play and do most anything you'd want to, that I'm sure.

I haven't even heard of that brand of laptop... I am kind of starting to get into the market for a new Laptop, as I am going back to school in the spring. Definitely want something that I can game with but still be useful enough with a numpad for studies in MIS / Project Management.

I totally know the feeling. I sold mine before I got remarried to help with wedding stuff, and then kids and house, blah blah blah.. One day. I know the wife knows I want one again, and she's on board.

Congrats on the new house! I know all about the issues with buying and how terribly wrong things can be.. I bought our new place last October, and we finally closed on the house the wife bought before we were married.. What a mess that was.. But hey - Once the house closes and the keys are in your h...

Buffalo is nice. Can still get cable and DSL, but quiet and rural enough to get a nice view of the stars. I really like where our new place is at too. No gunplay, no break-ins.. It's nice. :)

Awesome! You're in Plymouth, right? How is it with all the city lights and stuff? I'm in Ramsey and it's pretty dark in my neighborhood.
